A Honolulu massage parlor is now in hot waters after its owners and one of its employees are arrested and indicted. GoGo Spa is alleged to have been running a prostitution business in Pawa'a. The Department of Homeland security is also involved in this case. The arrests happened on Wednesday. Shankles and Luo are the owners of the GoGo Spa. Moore was an employee. The spa sign can be seen outside a building near the corner of South King Street and Kalakaua Avenue. Inside, investigators found condoms, restraints, and whips.
The investigation was going on since January after a prostitute from the spa was arrested. She chose to cooperate with authorities and give up information. After that information was confirmed, a grand jury made an indictment. Kaneshiro says he expects more arrests to follow at other massage parlors that are currently under investigation. Kaneshiro also made it a point to say this bust isn't an isolated case, pointing to similar massage parlors that were shut down.
Empire Relaxation was one of them, closing last August. Its owners were arrested and indicted as well. Owners Biyu Situ and Wei Li were arrested too.
Kaneshiro says the busts could not have been done without the cooperation of both prostitutes and johns. Kaneshiro added that the new sex trafficking law had nothing to do with GoGo Spa case because it didn't apply. The investigation is still ongoing. All Rights Reserved.
